GROUP CLASSES

These classes fall under what is known as ~ Mindfulness Mind/Body exercise- A variety of exercise/movement modalities, using the mind and body together, to bring about a greater change, better self awareness, greater mindfulness, lessen stress and improve relationships with others. Practice of these types of classes are shown to raise a person’s Emotional Intelligence, which is an important skill for both personal and professional success. Being outdoors and engaged with the views and the clean air provides another component with which to engage our guest, reduce their stress, and bring them greater wellbeing and peace of mind.

Yoga

Tap into one of the oldest and most popular mind body methods available for yourself or your group. Yoga is known to revitalize the body, clear the mind, and reduce stress. Use this well known tool to bring clarity and focus into your day.

Classes: 60-75 minutes.

Class can be postures only or can be lengthened to include quiet breath work and/or meditation; classes with breath work and/or meditation are 90 minutes, and have a higher fee.

Pilates

Pilates is one of the most intelligent forms of exercise. By developing healthy alignment, and focusing on the dynamic use of breath and deep core muscles, you can feel what it is like to have a healthy working posture. Posture is known to be related to mood, and mood to how effective you can be at throughout the day. People comment on feeling  taller, lighter and stronger.  Change your body, change your mood, change your mind.

Classes: 60 minutes.

Fascial Fitness and Stretching

Roll, Release and Renew: Fascia is the connective tissue that runs through and wraps every cell in the body- muscular, bone, tendon, ligament, and organs. It carries 10 x more nerve than muscle, meaning it is a pathway for thought and movement. Repetitive   actions such as sitting at a computer, texting, and even repetitive exercise can bind and restrict fascia in ways that create poor movement patterns and injury, and perception of mood. Roll, release and renew to hydrate and reorganzie the fascia to create better movement, better mood, and better results.

Class: 60-75 minutes.

Note: this type of class can be readily combined with either Yoga or Pilates.

Active Older Adult, Move it or Lose it, Low to No Impact Class
The most up to date older adult classes in town! Keep your brain and body active and healthy with classes that encourage you to keep learning about your body and your brain healthy. Feel taller, lighter, stronger, less stressed, more balanced and mobile. 
  • Monday and Thursday 10:30-11:30 am.
 
Yoga for Experienced Bodies
This class includes a Lifestretch (tm) Fascial Stretch Component, and is safe for those with Osteoporosis and Arthritis.
  • Wednesday 4-5 pm
 
Pilates for Older Bodies
This class also includes a Lifestretch (tm) Fascial Fitness component, and is safe for those with Osteoporosis and Arthritis.
  • Friday 11 am - 12 noon
 
Membership at the LTC required for all classes; then $2 per visit to LTC and $3 per class to Partners In Health.
Yoga and Pilates classes run seasonally in 8 week sessions. Classes are $10 per class when prepaid for the entire session.
 
WaterFitness at The Inn at Blue Mountain
 
Monday and Wednesday 8:00- 8:45 am, starting Monday May 4 until Wednesday June 29.
Classes run seasonally for 8 week sessions.
Cost and payment options:
Full session prepaid $162.72, including HST
Prorated- join after session has begun, prorate the fees at $9 per class plus HST. Prepaid at time of registration.
Travellers Package- if you're travelling and will miss more than 4 classes, choose your classes and pay $12 per class, plus HST. Prepaid at time of registration.
Drop in - fit in a workout to your schedule- $15 per class.
 
Fees include use of Blue Mountain Gym and hot tubs while class is in session. 
Memberships are non transferable and good for use of person attending class only.
